Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on the introduction of unified electronic single-entry visa for short-term travel for foreign citizens with tourist, business, guest and humanitarian purposes.
E-visa is issued for up to 60 calendar days with a stay in the country up to 16 days. Citizens of 52 countries can obtain e-visa. However, the pandemic has made adjustments.
On January 12, 2021, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation suspended issuance of unified e-visa until special order from the government. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that reason for such decision was protection of public health and the protection of state security.
