Los ciudadanos de la CEI solo podrán venir a Rusia con pasaportes internacionales
The Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement, according to which from 1 January 2015 the entry and exit from Russia for citizens of CIS countries will be possible only by international passports, – informs the newspaper “Izvestia”. The exception would be citizens of the “Customs Union”. At the same time the visa to the country for citizens of such states are still not required.
“With a view to introduce a single procedure for crossing the state border of the Russian Federation, as well as improve the control over migration processes the work is underway to ensure that by 1 January 2015 the regime of entry and exit from the Russian Federation of citizens of CIS countries by foreign passports,” – said in the online statement of Foreign Ministry. On the introduction of such a restriction the countries that were affected by it, have been warned in advance.
The new measure was introduced by the Resolution #555, adopted on June 17 this year. According to it, from 1 January 2015 the government decree of 21 September 2005 on the mutual travel within the CIS will become invalid. Exactly, it allowed moving through the territory of allied countries with ordinary passports and birth certificates for children. The resolution was adopted in the framework of the structuring and control of migration flows in Russia.
