Rusia y Dinamarca alcanzan un nuevo nivel de cooperación

An agreement on simplification of visa system between the Russian Federation and the Kingdom of Denmark came into force on the 1 of October 2009. The agreement was signed on the 27 of May, 2008.

It is based on agreement signed in 2006 between Russia and the countries of the European Union. In particular, the same order was fixed for charging and sizes of consular fees, for the terms of obtaining of visas.

As well the process of issuing of multiple-entry visas valid up to five years was simplified. This innovation refers to the journalists; members of official delegations, sporting events or cultural activities; drivers engaged in international transport; students participating in the exchange programmes; persons attending military dumping or relatives living in Russian Federation and Denmark.

Holders of diplomatic passports will be able to stay on the territory of the host State without visas up to 90 days within 6 months.

Simplifying of the visa system was carried out in the framework of an overall programme to strengthen cooperation between the two States. So, the international forum “Caravan of friendship “Russia – Denmark” will take place from the 15 to the 19 of October 2009 in Copenhagen.

The Russian delegation would consist of Ministers of the Government of Moscow, Governors of the leading regions of the Russian Federation, businessmen, journalists and artists.

Among the objectives of the Forum – the development of cultural and economic communication, the creation of new partnerships, the development of plan of overcoming the economy crises. In addition, the extensive cultural programme of the forum aims to promote and optimize image of Russia in Europe.

During the “Caravan of friendship” in the Kingdom of Denmark will take place the “Days of Russian culture”. The concerts of Russian and Danish artists will be shown on concert areas of Copenhagen. For the closure of the Festival will be improvised Carnival on the streets of the city, and the fireworks will be organized in the Park Tivoli in honour of Russia.

The organizers of the Forum “Caravan of friendship” were Department of culture of Moscow, Office of the Mayor of Copenhagen, Euro-Russian Business Association, the International Fund “Hilton” and a number of other associations. The event will take place with the support of the Council of Russian Federation, the Council of the President for the promotion of civil society and human rights, associations of Denmark, Copenhagen municipality, Danish democratic foundations.
