In Russia from 2009, the need to attract migrant workers reduces, – stated the Director of Employment and Labor Migration Department of RF Tatiana Blinova at the roundtable on the problems of unemployment held in State Duma.

So, if in 2010 the quota for foreign workers was 1.9 million people, in 2011, its volume will be 1.7 million people.

As Ms Blinov outlined: “Since 2009, the need of employers to attract foreigners has been reducing. And the need, which is declared by employers in 2011, confirms what happened in 2009 and 2010”, – informs the agency ITAR-TASS.

Particular attention was paid to the fact that skilled foreign workers become of high demand. Almost 73% of staff stated in the quota have special education and work in accordance with it.

“There are structural changes associated with foreign workers. We believe that Russia should focus on attracting exactly the most skilled workforce of foreign workers”, – said Tatiana Blinova.

However, after the resignation of the mayor analysts the future of labor migrants in Moscow is seen in different perspectives. In particular, the analyst Bakhrom Khamroev, as reports foreign mass media, believes that the Russian Federal Migration Service will soften the process of paperwork for foreigners in Russia.

But some experts believe that the number of labor migrants in Moscow and in Russia in general should be reduced.

And the head of the FMS, Konstantin Romodanovsky, on the contrary, believes that the visa application process in Russia for foreign experts should be simplified.

“We must put an end to disputes, if Russia needs immigrants or not. Russia needs labor immigrants as we need the air”, – said Mr. Romodanovsky.
