Rosturizm afirma la necesidad de desarrollar el turismo de negocios en Rusia

Rosturizm in cooperation with the largest operator of conferences and exhibitions in Russia Roscongress Foundation will consider an issue of the development of business tourism. An agreement on this point is expected to be signed at the Eastern economic forum.

Currently, this type of tourism is at an initial stage of its development in Russia. The share of business tourism in the world is more than 20%. According to the expert data, about 50% of airlines revenue, 60% of hotels revenue and more than 70% of car hire companies revenue are derived from such tourist service.

“At present, the contribution of the business tourism industry in the GDP of other countries is 1.5%. In Russia it is less than 0.3%, while the contribution of the congress and exhibition activities is only 0.05% Signing of an agreement is expected to become the first step in realization of the congress tourism potential.”

According to the head of the Federal Agency for Tourism Oleg Safonov, business tourism is very promising for purposes of increasing the inbound and domestic tourist flow as well as for the implementation of tourism potential of the country.

Business tourism is one of the most popular types of tourism. “Quality and successful execution of high-class events has a positive effect on the image of Russia and its specific regions and increases their investment attractiveness that contributes to regional economic development”, – says the Director of the Roscongress Foundation Alexander Stuglev.
