La introducción de la tarifa del complejo se considerará prematura
Tour operators believe that the introduction of the resort fee charged in some regions of the Russian Federation is premature due to the existing tough competition between domestic and foreign resorts. “According to tour operators, the introduction of such a fee in the conditions of severe competition between domestic and foreign resorts can be considered premature as it will contribute only to the development of the private shadow sector,” note tour operators.
It is necessary to emphasize that tourists, as a rule, are very sensitive to the price change which makes undesirable any rise in the recreation cost.
It should be recalled that on July 19, 2017 the State Duma adopted in the third reading a government bill on the experimental introduction of the resort fee in some regions of the country.
According to Dmitry Sharov, the general director of the tour operator for domestic tourism, the introduction of additional fees will have a negative impact on the tourist flow. “Such a measure will especially affect tourists who prefer economy class accommodations and control their budget,” said Dmitry Sharov.
The resort fee is supposed to be introduced in the Crimea, as well as in the Altai, Stavropol and Krasnodar regions. The amount should not exceed 100 rubles per a person a day. However, the experts note that the amount collected may vary according to the season.
