Nuevas reglas de registro en Moscú para el período de la Copa FIFA Confederaciones 2017 y la Copa Mundial FIFA 2018

Since June 1, a special procedure for registering foreign citizens arriving to Russia for the period of the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2018 FIFA World Cup will be introduced in Moscow and other Russian cities. According to the information posted on the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the term for submitting an application for registration will be reduced in Moscow and other cities.

According to the new decree, an arrival notification at the place of stay or registration at the place of residence for foreign citizens who entered Russia for temporary or permanent residence must be obtained within 24 hours from the date of the arrival at the place of stay (residence). This rule applies to all foreign citizens who will enter Kazan, Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sochi during the period from June 1, 2017 till July 12, 2017 as well as to foreigners who will enter the territories of Volgograd, Ekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Saransk and Sochi from May 25, 2018 till July 25, 2018.

The term for submitting application for registration of foreigner nationals and stateless persons at the place of their residence will be reduced: the registration must be obtained in 24 hours upon arrival to the country instead of seven working days as before. It is also stressed that failure to comply with these requirements will be punishable in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation.

As specified in the decree, these requirements for registration do not apply to Russian and foreign participants of the competitions as well as to the representatives of FIFA, its subsidiaries, confederations and national football associations included in the lists of the international federation.

It should be recalled that during the period of the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2018 FIFA World Cup special security measures will be taken in Russia.
