Rusia aprobó cuotas para emitir permisos de residencia en el país

Russian government approved last week a quota for issuing permits to foreigners for temporary residence in Russia. The number of foreigners and stateless persons in 2014 will amount to 95.8 thousand people.

The largest number of foreign citizens will be living in the Moscow region – 7000 people, while in Moscow itself, the number of legal migrants make no more than two thousand. 1.5 thousands of foreigners will be allowed to live in St. Petersburg, and Kalmykia and Nenets Autonomous District got the minimum quota, the number of foreigners in the regions will not exceed a total of 100 people.

Such factors as the economic situation in the region, the migration situation played the role in the definition of quotas. Also in determining the quota the government was guided by local authorities.

As a rule, citizens who apply for temporary residence quotas later seek to get a residence permit and citizenship. While the actual number of foreigners living in Russia legally exceed quotas. For example, the restriction does not affect the spouses of Russian citizens.
