Extensión gratuita de visas para extranjeros
The Association of Tour Operators of Russia has prepared letters to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation with a request to allow foreign citizens to enter Russia on already issued visas. This rule affects those who have received a visa in Russia but have not managed to use it.
According to statistics, the foreign citizens often receive short-term visas to Russia.
“Consequently, thousands of foreigners who have planned a trip to Russia for the next 2–3 months will not be able to postpone tours to later dates without obtaining new visas. Obviously, it will take time to process them and will increase the cost of travel”, — stressed the Association of Tour Operators.
The necessity of reissuing the entry visas for foreign citizens will be the reason for refusing to go to Russia.
“The tour operators around the world take decisions to postpone trips to later dates that will allow them to fulfill the pledges and save tourist’s funds. The Russian companies are concerned about the period of validity of visas to Russia”, — said the Association of Tour Operators.
It is reported that a number of European countries have already announced the extension of single-entry visas for Russian citizens. Thus, the Russian citizens will have the possibility to travel without additional fees.
According to the Association of Tour Operators, it is necessary to introduce symmetrical measures and to allow foreign citizens to enter Russia with visas that they have not yet been able to use.
