Extranjeros a recibir asistencia bajo seguro médico obligatorio

Foreign citizens to be able to obtain compulsory medical insurance policy starting January 1, 2023. Amendments to low no. 326-FZ “On Compulsory Medical Insurance” were adopted. Foreigners temporarily staying in the Russian Federation, as well as highly qualified specialists permanently residing in Russia will be considered insured under the compulsory medical insurance program.

It is written in accompanying materials to document that this will allow employer to save significantly on provision of paid medical services and on issuance of voluntary health insurance for staff.

Compulsory medical insurance policy will become digital from December 1, 2022. Citizens of Russia will receive barcode with symbols. Medical insurance still be obtained on paper.
