Foro Económico Oriental para aumentar el número de extranjeros en el Lejano Oriente
According to the head of Rosturism Oleg Safonov, the Eastern Economic Forum should positively affect the foreign tourist flow to the Far East.
“The Eastern Economic Forum will be held for the third time. This is a very important event for us. Over the past two years, we have seen an exceptionally positive dynamics in the growth of the inbound tourist flow from different countries,” explained Oleg Safonov.
Various political and economic issues are touched upon during the Eastern Economic Forum, that represents an important feature in the interaction of the forum participants' countries.
“From the point of view of tourism, it is very important for us to show all our tourist opportunities to the representatives of those countries that will visit us. To do this, cultural and sports programs are being held. The aim is to show the guests the potential of all nine regions of our Far Eastern Federal District through the holding of these events,” stated O. Safonov.
Deputy Minister of Culture Alexander Zhuravsky stressed that the cultural program of the forum will be very ambitious and will open in Vladivostok on September 5 with a carnival procession.
It should be noted that in 2016 the forum was attended by 4,600 people including representatives of business and scientific community, as well as representatives of the public from 56 countries. This year, it is expected that the number of forum participants will exceed the figures of the previous year.
