E-Visas para turistas extranjeros que viajan a San Petersburgo
According to the chairman of the Committee for the development of tourism of St. Petersburg Yevgeny Pankevich, the authorities of the northern capital are currently discussing the possibility of the introduction of electronic visas for foreign tourists.
“The visa issue is one of the important criteria for the guests' stay in St. Petersburg. The process is on, now we see the response of our colleagues, industry and guests arriving to the World Cup and understand that it is a promising digital story that makes the stay in St. Petersburg easier, so we are working on it,” E. Pankevich said.
It is expected that the regime of electronic visas will be introduced for foreign guests arriving in St. Petersburg by plane for up to 3 days. “Taking into account the successful use of FAN IDs, it will be appropriate to raise again the issue of introducing e-visas for tourists. I think that it would be quite possible to issue them for three days to foreigners arriving in our city by air,” the Governor of St. Petersburg George Poltavchenko said.
The introduction of electronic visas is supported by the Governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko as well. “The introduction of e-visas for those who plan on visiting our country for tourist purposes fully meets the today’s requirements. The influx of foreign tourists will contribute not only to the further development of service and hotel infrastructure, but also small businesses,” reported the governor.
