From 1 October, citizens of 53 states will be able to enter St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region with e-visa, said Nana Gvichiya, Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Development Committee of St. Petersburg.

This document was signed by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev. He confirmed that the citizens of 53 states will be able to visit St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region with e-visa from 1 October.

Gvichiya stressed that foreign tourists cannot go by train to St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region because St. Petersburg is not technically ready for this. All other methods — a car, a plane, and a liner will be available.

The list of countries whose citizens can apply for e-visas includes Austria, Andorra, Bahrain, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Vatican, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Denmark, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Qatar, Cyprus, China (including Taiwan), DPRK, Kuwait, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Northern Macedonia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Philippines, Finland, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Estonia, Japan.

At present, foreign tourists can visit the Far East and the Kaliningrad region with e-visas. From 1 October, it will be possible to get е-visa for trip to St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. At least four calendar days before the planned trip, foreign tourists must fill out an electronic form on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. Such visa is valid for 30 days and allows stay in Russia no more than eight days from the moment of entry. From 1 January, 2021, foreign tourists will be able to receive e-visas for trips to all regions of Russia.
