Rusia cancela cuarentena obligatoria para turistas de países africanos
14-day quarantine is no necessary for passengers arriving in Russia from African countries and Hong Kong.
The Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing said about it over their site.
The service has ruled that tourists from South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia, Tanzania, Lesotho, Madagascar, Eswatini and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region are exempted from obligatory self-isolation and these people will not have to undergo two tests for the coronavirus infection.
The Russian authorities have restricted the entry of those arriving from South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho and Namibia to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus variant, Omicron, since November 28, 2021. Also, number of European countries has limited air communication with South Africa: Germany, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, France, Austria and the Czech Republic.
In January new entry rules became known after easing of anti-COVID restrictions. From February 11, Russian tourists are no necessary 10-day quarantine upon arrival in the UK regardless of vaccination status.
