Transit Russian Visa

This visa is for those who are traveling to some other country via Russia. Usually, it is easy and inexpensive to get a Transit visa. There are also single-entry and double-entry Transit visas available.

A transit visa is not required for layovers of less than 24 hours without leaving the international area at the airport.

Period of staying in Russia: Not more than three days.

Visa Invitation: Not required. The Russian Consulate will issue a Transit visa if you present a copy of your travel documents and your visa to the country of destination (if a visa is necessary).

Terms and costs for issuing a visa at the Consulate: Depends on the Consulate.

Important: If you have difficulties acquiring your Transit visa, then you may want apply for a Tourist visa.
