Legalization. Apostil

Giving juridical force to the Russian document for the presentation into the official departments of other states – legalization – it is achieved by several methods depending on the type of document and demands of state concerned.

For some countries the legalization is not required
Certain types of documents cannot be legalized

Option 1. Apostille
Apostille is a simplified procedure of legalization of documents for presentation in countries signatories of the Hague Convention.

Apostille is a special stamp with strictly form and order of completion. It can be put on request of any document bearer directly on space of document free from text, either on its back, or on a separate sheet of paper, which necessarily should be attached to the main document.

Apostille is placed on originals or notarial certified copies of documents issued only by official bodies or agencies.

Option 1. Full consular legalization
Is done in following mode:

  1. Translation into appropriate language and notarization of signature of translator.
  2. Certification of the Ministry of Justice of the notary's signature and stamp authentication.
  3. MFA Consular service certification of authenticity of signature of the Ministry of Justice official.
  4. Certification in consulate of country providing the document.

Option 3. Legalization special department
Is done in following mode:

  1. Translation into appropriate language and notarization of signature of translator.
  2. Certification in specialized Department (in Chamber of Commerce – for commercial documents, in the Ministry of education – for diplomas, etc) of the authentication of notary's signature and stamp.
  3. Certification in the Consulate of the country providing document
